Davvyd "birdman" Brown
Artist

DAVVYD BROWN is one of Queenslands's most well known locals and favourite characters. Lovingly nick named "The Birdman" he is famous for the incredible trained birds that adorn him and their zany antics, all personally trained by him. Davvyd was born in Hobart on the 9th June, 1942. After living in New Zealand and Sydney, Davvyd moved to Queensland in 1970 where he established a successful career in the hospitality industry on the Great Barrier Reef. Davvyd started painting ten years ago and his paintings already hang in renowned homes in Australia, Hong Kong, Germany & U.S.A. His love of bright colors, parrots, flowers and the spontaniety of his free brush strokes creates a dazzling array of color and excitement onto his canvases. The "birdman" title also derived from his unique business performing on stage, and photographing people with his trained and highly intelligent exotic parrots. Hence forth his title is the Paradise Bird Man, whereby Davvyd has won numerous tourism awards from the Chamber of Commerce and extended into the movie industry with movies, TV commercials and documentaries. He starred in "George of the Jungle 2" with "Henry", his world famous cockatoo. Henry is recognized for his services to the tourism industry by the Gold Coast City Council and has been claimed their official mascot for life. A feather in his cap so to speak!
