WILD LINKS INDIA SAFARI'S

BANNERGHATTA BEAR SANCTUARY
Bannerghatta National Park is situated 22 kilometres from Bangalore, and here lies the Bannerghatta Bear Sanctuary where you will find sloths of gorgeous sloth bears that have been rescued from dancing on the streets in India. I spent two incredible days at the park with the vets & Kartick who took me on safari through the National Park where I also saw a family of elephants. Watching the bears devour their water melons and slurp up their protein breakfast of porridge, fresh eggs, honey and vitamins was an awesome experience!

Shankar was my treasured driver from Bangalore to Mysore. After leaving Kabini we visited the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. Absolutely beautiful location for Indian bird watching.

Flying from Mumbai to Diu then a two hour drive to Gir National Park which is the last remaining habitat of the Asiatic Lion in the world. The sanctuary also supports a thriving leopard population, and large sambar and spotted deer, blue bull, gazelle, four-horned antelope and wild boar. The mix of deciduous forests, grasslands, scrubland and water bodies also makes Gir a good birdwatching site and interesting reptiles like Marsh Crocodile, Rock Python., Monitor Lizard, etc can be seen.

Designed for those who love nature and natural settings, the Gir Birding Lodge is set among the mango groves with a superb view over the walls of the sanctuary of the forests, which attracts a good number of birds coming in from the forests. My sweet cottage was named the Owlet!
